Powhatan County Prayer Walk
Sunday, August 17, 2025
2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Our mission is to uplift our children and schools (public, private, homeschooling, & daycare) through prayer, in seeking a spiritual awaking, protection, and blessings for every child in our county and for those involved in their education. Together, co-laboring with our God and Savior, we walk in faith, united in purpose towards a brighter future for our community.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (ESV)
... if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Praying Scripture
God's Word is God's Will. Praying effectively is praying God's promises, which are found in His Word. The fruit of God's tree of promises fall when the tree is shaken by the hand of prayer (Old English Puritan Thomas Watson). We are going to shake the tree of God's promises for our children and schools.
James 5:16 - Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
Psalm 34:15 - The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry;
Isaiah 45:8 - Shower, O heavens, from above, and let the clouds rain down righteousness; let the earth open, that salvation and righteousness may bear fruit; let the earth cause them both to sprout; I the Lord have created it.
Hosea 10:12 - Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for it is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and rain righteousness upon you.
1 Corinthians 3:6–9 - I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.
Matthew 6:9–10 - Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
